I have a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in art and art education with an emphasis on printmaking. I have been making art for over 50 years, have exhibited and taught in Germany and the U.S. teaching college printmaking and drawing classes, adult education courses in painting and home studio classes in drawing, printmaking, fiber, painting and collage.

I have completed numerous private and corporate commissions for prints, paintings and drawings.

In the past fifteen years I have been working solely on collage/mixed media pieces and art books.

These pieces are quirky reconstructions of old photographed or found images accompanied by completely fabricated  and often, tongue-in-cheek fables.  I call the work narrative mixed media collages. The primary focus has been on Asian art sources although not solely.  I have overworked some of my old stone lithographs or paintings, using hand made papers, ink transfer, cut imagery, bits of poems or text and anything that strikes my fancy.

Since 2013, I have completed a 14 page, 12x16 inch portfolio of sewn, glued and painted story pages which are kept loose in a Japanese style “open-flat” box portfolio which is now in a private art book collection and exhibited in the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, Sherry Grover Book room.  Continuing that same year and in 2014 two more art books were completed, both sold and on display in the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. Three more art books have been completed and sold in 2015 and 2016. These are “one-offs” and not editions.

I am represented by The Gallery (BAC), Bainbridge Arts and Crafts,  Bainbridge Island, Washington. In 2012 I taught a 31 hour collage class which was sponsored by the gallery. BAC is a rare and wonderful community, non-profit fine art gallery supporting artists and the arts in the region since 1948. Two bookmaking workshops were completed in 2013. A small two day class was held in March 2014 in-studio. Since 2015 I have discontinued teaching private classes but am available for short lectures.

I reside with my spouse in Port Ludlow, Washington, where I have a home-studio.
